Common questions
Do I need to download anything from the App Store?
No. dBrief is a Progressive Web App (PWA). Open it in your browser and tap "Add to Home Screen" — it installs like a native app on iPhone, Android, or any tablet. No App Store, no Google Play.
Does it work on site without phone signal?
Yes. The job editor works offline once the app is loaded — drafts cache to the device and sync automatically when you're back on signal. The catalogue picker and customer-share send do need a connection.
Can I put my company name and logo on reports?
Yes. Add your company name, phone, email, website, accreditations (CAI, CEDIA, NICEIC etc) and choose an accent colour. Every report, quote and invoice customers receive will look like it came from you.
What disciplines does it cover?
Aerial, satellite, CCTV (including IP CCTV), WiFi / network, audio / AV, and HD distribution. The cable loss calculator covers both coaxial and CAT cable including PoE voltage drop. Plus tools for satellite alignment, CCTV camera coverage and an in-app live Astra 2 channel/transponder lookup.
Can I send quotes and invoices through dBrief?
Yes — the full flow is built in. Send a quote with a deposit, customer accepts on a share link, you convert it to a job, fit it, then generate the invoice. Daily reminders chase quote expiry and overdue invoices automatically. Bulk-export to Xero / Sage / FreeAgent / QuickBooks via CSV.
How does the Eurosat catalogue integration work?
If you have a trade account with Eurosat Scotland, dBrief pulls live products from the catalogue at your trade-tier prices. SKUs and PDF datasheets carry through onto the customer report. Reorder a job's equipment to your Eurosat basket with one tap when you need to restock the van.
How does team pricing work?
Sole Trader is one user. Small Company covers up to four engineers (great for a small team that doesn't grow much). Company gives you unlimited engineers — two included, then £4.99 per extra engineer per month. Engineers are added by sending them an invite from the admin dashboard.
Can I cancel at any time?
Yes. No contracts, no minimum term, no exit fees. Cancel via the Customer Portal in Settings — you keep access until the end of the billing period. Your job history stays accessible and can be exported.
